1999 Season Averages
All the averages are calculated in the traditional manner, in that a not out score does not count as a complete innings. To win the averages for a given season a batsman must complete at least 10 innings and a bowler must bowl at least 50 overs.

Batting
As you can see from the averages there were very many excellent performers for the club in 1999. Two who stand out with the Bat are Neil Bigmore and Richie Barker. As an opening partnership they regularly weighed in with the runs giving us a strong start in most innings. Both Neil and Richie scored two centuries each, and were regularly in the 50's.
Martin Bigmore also had a good year with the bat, he scored his maiden century against Hatfield Hyde (112no 20/7). Barratt Odedra proved himself a quality batsman for us again, however he only played in 5 games and so cannot be considered for the Batting Award.
Stephen Bexfield wins the batting award for 1999. With an average of 41.83, he scored a total of 502 runs. Although this is less than half of Neil's total it must be remembered that Stephen Bexfield normally bats at 5,6 or 7. With 9 not out's he proved himself to be a solid, reliable and valuable scorer of runs for the club in 1999.
Bowling
Michael Wind wins the Bowling award for 1999. He bowles a total of 190 overs, getting 55 wickets at an average of 14.27. This average could have been alot lower had it not been for a bad run at the end of the season. Although he has an average of 20.27 Colin Keeley had another successful season with the ball. He equaled Michael Wind with 55 wickets, bowling on a consistent line and length he was very hard to get away all season as shown by the runs per over figure (3.4). Had it not been for some very bad luck with dropped catches Colin Keeley's figures could have been even better.
Darrell Cooper did not play as much as usual in 1999, this is shown by his total of 37 wickets (low by his standards). His average of 22.5 is a little higher than usual. All in all though he bowled with pace and consistency all season.
Mark Tattersall, John Ceresale and Cliff Large all bowled well in 1999 each gaining over 15 wickets.
